Durable, solid construction. As someone who is trying to get fit, but NOT familiar with the ins and outs of joists vs studs vs beams, I bought this to mount on the beam that runs across our garage. Which is 8″ thick, and a joist is not. Oops. Thankfully, our neighbor is a handy guy and mounted it with 2x4s and different (longer) screws, so it’s on the beam but took a little extra work to get it in place. That said, the mounting hardware and instructions were quite clear – even to me! – and if you’re putting it up the way you’re ‘supposed’ to, it should be a simple process. (You’ll need a level, drill, and some elbow grease – very straightforward.) I can’t wait to get strong enough to use this for unassisted pull-ups. In the meantime, I’ll be using resistance bands and suspension trainers to get there. 😀

This thing is awesome, better than any of the pull up bars in my local gym. It’s longer than I expected (nearly 4 feet), which makes it useful for a variety of grip positions, and the bar itself has a pretty large diameter, which reduces pressure by spreading the weight across more of your hand.
Installation was easy and this thing is solid (my floor joists are more likely to wobble than this thing is).

This bar does exactly what it was designed for, with heavy duty construction and the means to mount it to my bedroom joist. I also have one of the attach to the top of a door variety that needed to be taken down and stored when not in use; it depended on the construction of the door frame in question and I never felt safe using it. I would recommend this product to anyone with an exposed ceiling and a desire to gain the health benefit of pull-ups. Shipping and handling were the “normal” outstanding.

  4. QK Chan

Easy to install and well built. I’m 6’1, 215lbs. It came with great hardware and I had it up in less than 15 minutes. The quality is excellent for the price and I cannot see anyone being dissatisfied.
The only thing I will say is that it’s definitely on the thicker side, so if you or the person you’re getting it for have smaller hands, consider another bar.

  5. Desmond Ng

Easy to install and ergonomic for the wrist. Does need some tape. So will have to get some athletic tape to wrap the bar. Already increased my reps, but think some tape on it will help. Lot better than a straight bar.
